Step back in time with our engaging historical tours and uncover the rich legacy of Western Australia’s oldest observatory. Explore the wonders of our nearest star through safe solar telescope viewing and see the Sun in remarkable detail. Roger Groom from Astrophotography Australia will be on-site with a dedicated stall, where visitors can learn how stunning night sky images are captured. BinoCentral will also be attending with a stall, offering expert advice on binoculars and telescopes, with the opportunity to purchase the right telescope on the day.
Take an immersive journey through the cosmos with 360-degree space videos in virtual reality, transporting you to distant planets, stars, and galaxies. Younger visitors can get creative at the kids’ craft station or take part in paid art workshops with Supanova Studios. There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting, lawn games, and a classic sausage sizzle running throughout the day.
Get hands-on with our community space mural, a collaborative artwork celebrating the beauty of the universe. Learn about citizen science projects, fireballs, and the Global Meteor Network, and discover how everyday people can play a role in helping scientists study meteors and other space phenomena.

To book your Intro to the Stars Festival spots right now, you need to enter the number of people coming, click the date in the booking calendar and then choose the time you want to attend.
Once you’ve done that, click on the Book Now button and that will take you to the checkout section where you can pay for your spots.
You’ll get a confirmation email and on the day we will ask you for the name the booking was under and then mark you off on the booking sheet.
