Since July 1898, the Perth Observatory has been acquiring a collection of books, journals, and catalogues for its Library. The collection currently includes 2,143 books, some of which may have been purchased even earlier than 1898. Over the years, these resources have been used by astronomers and other individuals for research, reference, and personal reading.
In addition to the book collection, the Library houses 2,760 journals, catalogues, bulletins, annual reports, and publications from other observatories and astronomical associations. Notably, we have a complete and regularly updated collection of Nature, the world’s leading multidisciplinary science journal that was first published in 1869. Our library is a valuable resource for those interested in astronomy and related sciences, and we are proud to share our collection with visitors and researchers alike.
